![]() Once a person has come to grips with the ideas of feedback, structure, and behavior, he/she is often called upon to use that knowledge by developing a simulation model. Few people, unfortunately, have that much time to devote. Backgroundĭeveloping the skills to create good system dynamics models takes many years. Molecules are now implemented in software, making it faster and easier for novice and experienced modelers to develop high quality system dynamics models. By having access to tried and true formulations, modelers can review what has been done before and modify or directly incorporate these formulations into their own models. Molecules, and their organization, provide a framework for presenting important and commonly used elements of model structure to novice and experienced model builders. Molecules are the building blocks of good system dynamics models. They should be sent by email to Jim Hines. Molecules and their implementation represent work in progress. Users/Shared/Vensim/Help/Models/MoleculesĪ short tutorial on molecules is later on this page. You can find the molecules at one of the following locations. To use the Molecules, you will need to read and accept a License Agreement which you can review here.ĭocumentation on individual Molecules is contained in the file molecule.pdf (an Adobe Acrobat format file) that is installed with the molecules. ![]() This document contains a short theory of molecules, a description of how to install molecules for use with Vensim, and then a tutorial showing how to use molecules in Vensim. ![]()
